Ryan Reynolds in Green Lantern Movie
In an exclusive first real look at the upcoming comic book based block buster movie, Entertainment Weekly’s cover photo was none other than Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern. While the Green Lantern has never garnered much mainstream attention as let’s say Batman and Spiderman has over the last decade – this could all change with Martin Campell’s take on the nearly 70 year old DC comic franchise.
Ryan Reynolds = Green Lantern
The main focus with this adaptation of the Green Lantern movie (which will be based around Hal Jordan, and not the ‘original’ Green Lantern Alan Scott) – will be trying to market the Green Lantern as a ‘bad-ass’, ‘all-powerful’ superhero along the likes of Superman. As we witnessed with Jim Carrey as Riddler in the 1995 film “Batman Forever” – tight green suits on the big screen doesn’t look all that menacing. That is all set to change with what looks like a totally new look for the Green Lantern. Have a look at the Green Lantern suit yourself and see – but the EW cover story also apparently states that the suit will be CGI, which will open a suit of possibilities for the “Casino Royale” director. The EW magazine comes out this week for those interested to find some juicy gossip surrounding the latest blockbuster comic book film.
Hopefully the Green Lantern ring doesn’t totally destroy Ryan Reynolds in the process, as it’s been rumored that he injured himself on the set whilst filming the Green Lantern movie. Let us know what you think – was Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern the right pick? Does the Green Lantern CGI costume/suit look as bad-ass as some of the recent Batman costume revamps?

Hate, hate, hate the costume. Love Reynolds. Hate the costume though. WE WANT THE CLASSIC COSTUME!
Green Lantern and the rest of the DC universe never really did it for me, with the exception of Batman. What I really want to see is Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool.
